BlackBerry has built-in speedy short cuts that will get you to these applications with the touch of 1 key. These are HUGE time savers (and thumb savers).
** To activate these short cuts to launch applications from the home screen (calendar, phone, messages, profiles, etc), first turn off Dialing from the Home screen (Go to the Phone application-> Options -> “Dial from Home Screen” -> No )**
